Merry Christmas All!

I just finished a pastorpod I hope you'll view via our blog or Pond Place (see below) before Christmas. We often celebrate Jesus coming without remembering why...did he come just to die (although that's important for our salvation), or did he have more to accomplish, teach, model, etc. Check-out pastorpod, "Christmas--Why Jesus Came," when you can.

This past Sunday was Great and we appreciate Jeremy's sermon tremendously. Attendance and giving was great too and we praise God for providing! Of course this coming week is the Kidz Church Concert--a celebration of Christmas you won't want to miss. I'm telling you--grab your neighbors, your boss, your friends, your family, shucks--grab complete strangers and drag them in. You won't be disappointed. We'll also talk about "A Gift From Afar," a Christmas message about a gift Jesus promised after his resurrection. It's literally a "gift that keeps on giving." Don't miss it!

In the meantime, take time to rest this season OK? Too many of us are running around, stressed out, and thus at risk of missing the messiah, the true reason for Christmas. Remember, it was Jesus who said, "Come to me...and I will give you rest....(Matt. 11:28)." My prayer is that you'll take advantage of that despite all the activities, shopping, etc.

In His Love,

Pastor Joel
