Get Involved

Here's a list of regular the service opportunities here at Mill Pond Church, great ways to get involved!

Water Fall Festival--Each Fall, normally on the last Saturday in September, the town of Newington's Chamber of Commerce hosts an event on Market Square. Local businesses and non-profits sponsor booths and there's music, food, and lots of fun. Mill Pond always has a booth where we give-away Bibles, brochures, pens, and other items. Normally, people volunteer for a two hour shift from 8:00 AM to around 3:00 PM. If you serve, you simply greet people, give them stuff, smile and invite them to our worship services. To sign-up, simply email office@millpondchurch.org and let us know what time(s) you are available.

Newington Showcase--Each winter in February, Newington hosts "The Taste of Newington" food show for local restaurants and a trade show, "The Newington Showcase" in the High School. We sponsor a booth where we give-away Bibles, brochures, pens, and other items. Normally, people volunteer for a two hour shift from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If you serve, you simply greet people, give them stuff, smile and invite them to our worship services. To sign-up, simply email office@millpondchurch.org and let us know what time(s) you are available.

Newington Extravaganza--Every July, normally on the Second or Third Saturday of the month, the town of newington hosts a carnival with outdoor booths, food, shows, and fireworks at Mill Pond Park.

Homeless Outreach--From time-to-time, Mill Ponders volunteer at the Hartford Rescue Mission and/or the Salvation Army in Hartford. We prepare a meal, serve it, provide a Bible Study/Devotional, and just visit with and pray for those in need. If you'd like to help, just email office@millpondchurch.org and we'll notify of the next event.

Local Projects/Service Needs--Mill Pond has been committed to serving Newington and surrounding towns since prior to our March 2007 launch. Often, the local Human Services Dept. or the Senior Center will call and ask for help moving older or handicapped residents, raking leaves, mowing, or other physical projects. If you'd like to serve in this kind of situation, just email office@millpondchurch.org and we'll notify you when we "receive the call." Thanks!
